What is Facebook?

 What is Facebook?

Facebook is a social media platform and technology company founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with his college roommates Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and Dustin Moskovitz. It was initially launched in 2004 as "TheFacebook" and later became simply "Facebook."

Facebook allows users to create personal profiles, connect with friends and family, share updates, photos, videos, and links, and engage with content posted by others through likes, comments, and shares. Over the years, Facebook has expanded its features to include various forms of multimedia sharing, events, groups, marketplace, and more.

Additionally, Facebook has acquired several other major platforms and services, such as Instagram and WhatsApp, making it one of the largest and most influential technology companies in the world. It has also been involved in various controversies related to privacy, data handling, and its impact on society.
