What is Intranet?
An intranet is a private network that is restricted to
an organization and its employees. It is typically used for internal
communication, collaboration, and sharing of information/resources within the
organization. Intranets are often built using standard internet technologies
such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and web browsers, but they are accessible only to
authorized users within the organization. Intranets can include various
features such as file sharing, document management, employee directories,
email, discussion forums, wikis, and other collaborative tools tailored to the
specific needs of the organization. They serve as a centralized platform for
employees to access company resources, communicate with colleagues, and stay
updated on company news and policies.
